George has been working for over twelve years as a policy officer at the European Commission, with most of that time dedicated to energy topics, including energy efficiency and energy security. He currently focuses on EU policies for developing smart energy systems, such as promoting digitalisation and fostering research and innovation. 

George has a background in electrical engineering, and holds a masters in project management and a post-university diploma in the management of public administration.
