Lorenzo Sani
Lorenzo Sani is an analyst at Carbon Tracker an independent financial think tank, based in the UK. Lorenzo joined Carbon Tracker in 2021 and focuses on modelling the energy transition in the power sector.
He specialises in the UK’s energy transition focusing on grid constraints, wind curtailment, energy market design, carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) and hydrogen. His notable publications include "Gone with the Wind", "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (on CCUS) and "Kind of Blue".
Before Carbon Tracker, he worked as a researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Lorenzo holds a Bachelor's in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Master's in Sustainable Energy Systems from EIT InnoEnergy.
