Duarte Bello is the CEO for Europe at EDP group and Member of the Management Team of EDP Renewables. In this role, he leads the long-term strategy for utility-scale renewable energy projects and solar solutions for businesses across Europe, with a focus on key markets for advancing clean energy initiatives.

He graduated in Business and Administration at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Throughout his career he has held several management positions. He joined EDP in 2006 and worked as Head of M&A and Corporate Development to lead international M&A transactions in Europe, US, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific and developing long-term strategies for EDP. Previously, he also worked as Chief of Staff for the CEO and has been a member of the EDP Group Investment Committee.

Before working at EDP group, he worked as a financial analyst at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney in London and Lisbon, and as a financial analyst in Citigroup’s Investment Banking division in London.
