Didier Lachenal
Didier LACHENAL has an extensive experience in organization, governance and structure in Power projects.
This experience is key to foreseeing risks and opportunities through the full project lifecycle, to manage them, to coordinate the different department and functions and to ensure that all the actions taken come together into a coherent target for a successful Project: “to the required quality, on time and within the budget” .
Currently Didier is Chief Operating Officer at EDF CI2T which is an engineering and consulting business unit in Power and Transmission Systems for EDF group and clients. This business unit carries out engineering activities in system studies such as master plans and renewable integration,manages power transmission project from the feasibility studies to the commissioning stage, and provides support services in operation and maintenance and asset management.
CIST’s technical expertise and good industry practices have been continually updated and consolidated for more than 70 years to contribute to EDF Group’s performance. Each year, new projects contribute to that constant evolution.
Previously, Didier was the Conventional Island Project Director for 2 nuclear power station at HPC (Hinkley Point C) at EDF Energy in United Kingdom. He was accountable for the overall delivery of the turbine group, the generator, the ancillary services and the power transmission of HPC including the grid connection which represent an investment of £1.6 billion. During this period (5 years), he was responsible for the design and the procurement phases of the project.
Prior to this position, Didier was Head of the Transmission Department at EDF group for 7 years covering substations and high voltage cables. This department was in charge of providing engineering services to optimize the operation and the maintenance of EDF’s transmission asset and consultancy services for clients in France and abroad.
