Unlocking the Power of Smart Energy: A New Era in Efficiency, Flexibility and Innovation
The Smart Energy Cluster encompasses a diverse set of projects dedicated to driving the energy transition through innovative technologies and community engagement. Under this umbrella, 7 pioneering projects—InEExS, DEDALUS, EU-MORE, FORTESIE, RESONANCE, DigiBUILD, and ReSCHOOL—are at the forefront of developing scalable, replicable solutions for sustainable energy management. These projects explore a range of themes, from blockchain and smart contracts to community-driven energy initiatives and digital twins.
Each project contributes uniquely to the overarching goal of improving energy efficiency and sustainability. For instance, FORTESIE and InEExS are leveraging blockchain to enhance transparency and reliability in energy transactions, while DigiBUILD focuses on data-driven decision-making, using enhanced data management tools to improve building renovation processes along with RESONANCE that focuses on energy flexibility and smart grid integration, aiming to improve urban energy management and resilience. DEDALUS, on the other hand, concentrates on deep renovation strategies to significantly enhance the energy performance of buildings. EU-MORE is developing innovative financial models to overcome investment barriers, facilitating deep renovation and energy efficiency projects in buildings and industrial processes. ReSCHOOL, meanwhile, focuses on the creation of energy communities and educational initiatives, empowering citizens and schools to actively participate in sustainable energy management.
Together, these projects represent a holistic approach to the energy transition, integrating advanced technologies with community engagement to create a more sustainable, efficient, and resilient energy future. As they operate under the Smart Energy Cluster, their collaborative efforts aim to break down the barriers to innovation, making sustainable energy solutions accessible and impactful across Europe.
The scope of the event is to bring together the various innovations and solutions developed across these projects to explore how they can accelerate the energy transition in Europe. By uniting the expertise of each project, the event aims to discuss key topics such as integrating advanced digital technologies like blockchain, AI, and big data into energy services, overcoming financial, technical and regulatory and behavioural barriers to energy efficiency, and fostering collaboration across sectors to enable scalable and replicable energy solutions and more.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions on how these projects are addressing the critical challenges of reducing energy consumption, improving building renovations, and creating resilient energy systems. Through knowledge sharing and collaboration, the event seeks to create a platform for stakeholders to explore how to better integrate technology, finance, and community engagement to achieve the EU’s ambitious energy efficiency and climate goals.
