Presentation of aspect of H2LEC concept - Energy losses vs. local opportunities
A Local energy community (LEC) is a vertically nested system in energy supply and an ecosystem with joint values and objectives. A H2LEC – Local energy community with integrated hydrogen systems - represents the carrier of dispersed energy and hydrogen production as a complement of concentrated energy and hydrogen production.
Hydrogen conversion processes generate heat and other side products, that are usually considered waste and therefore have negative impact on the overall efficiency. With innovative approaches to sector coupling and holistic optimization technologies utilized by H2LEC, energy losses translate to increased energy efficiency and local opportunities.
