Europe’s Decarbonisation ambition vs. current project trajectory
Green hydrogen has the potential to play a crucial role in ‘sector coupling’, which involves interconnecting all energy-consuming sectors. This integration is a long-term objective essential for achieving the decarbonisation of the European economy. Europe has proactively promoted green hydrogen through various policies and initiatives as part of its strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Investment in hydrogen is increasing, but only its minor share is real committed capital due to barriers across the hydrogen value chain.
