fil'R SUN all terrain solar power
Fil’R SUN is an innovative solar concept that consist in overhanging bifacial solar panels to cables stretched between poles. It’s the fruit of the cooperation between 3 enterprises : Photowatt, Mécamont and EDF.
Fil’R SUN is particullarly well-suited to areas that are difficult to equip, such as industrial wasteland or uneven terrain. It can also maximize the value of land already in use, such as navigation or water supply channels.
The suspension and attachment systems of the panels to the cables are at the heart of our innovative concept.
Our panels are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions with a lightweight structure.
Fil’R SUN produces a reliable green energy.
The proof of concept of 12kWp has been successfully made during 3 years between 2020 and 2023 on an hydroelectric channel in the south of France
Thanks to the help of the LIFE program, EDF is currently extending the installation to reach the scale of an industrial pilot. The dimension is 1MWp on 400m above the channel. It will permit to experience efficient implementation methods and to limit the environmental and societal impact.
Next step will be the commercialization of fil’R SUN. Our estimation of the replicability on the European market is around 10GWp. Our first goal is to equip 30MWp till 2031.
